A friend of mine called me from US a dozen times for the noble purpose of attending the Chennai chapter of Tamilnadu foundation specially called the Road Map. I have no intention of hurting well meaning people. These US citizens are putting heart and soul in running a medical aid for lepers in Chengalpat district. I have gone a number of times with Dr. Balu from US who comes every year to Chengalpat and once I have visited the new residential home for the affected humans along with the daughter of our late President Mr. Venkatraman. The TN foundation also helps “Kalanjiam,” an NGO that helps the disabled and the poor class in the matter of education and their welfare.

This `Road Map’ meet was a special one to monitor drop outs and resuscitate them to schools. Sitting there for nearly two and half hours from 3.20 PM to 5.40, I was obliged to sneak out from the preselected back bench to attend the birthday function of Poet Kavigner Kannadasan. Only after reaching 84th birthday I realized few truths. The poet was my best friend till left for USA and his carcass was brought back after a month in hospital with life support systems.

This great Tamil poet was a dropout from high school.
His friend Kalignar Mu.Ka refused to go college.
Mr. MGR was a drop out from elementary school.
Charuhasan is a drop out from a degree class.
Mister Kamal Hassan is 9th standard dropout.
Mr. Maniratnam is a dropout from Business
administration.
Suhasini is a drop out from B.Sc degree, passed with
Ist rank inCinematography and dropped out of the
chosen profession.

650 people in USA of Tamilnadu foundation are well meaning people. But are they sure that they are wasting their valuable energy?

Charu sir

Drop outs you mentioned in the list is really nice. But can you read the list once again.

They are jamabavans of their respective industry. They have their impressions in their selective field.

But today it is highly competitive world. If you see all the dropouts in their respective field, today also they have to do something new to maintain their status.

My conclusion is there are some exceptional cases in the dropouts, but basic education is vital for a person's success especially in the present world trend.

People think differently when they want to succeseded but go to great lengths to gain mastery in a chosen profession.

All the people listed above by charu anna are well read and probably work very hard that could be their foundation for their success.

While academic qualification is necessary to stimulate greater learning it does not guaranty success.
